This page is to welcome a person to the app. It appears when the app loads for the first time. The user can click on any part of the screen that is outside of the white welcome box to leave the Welcome Message Screen and enter the Home Screen.

Home screen

The user can see all of the main options for the app. The user can click on the each of the 5 options anywhere in each of 5 the rows indicated by a graphic and title. The user can go to “Input Your Medical History,” “Treatment Options,” “Compare Side Effects,” “Compare Frequency and Usage,” and “About.” When the user clicks on these options, they get taken to a new screen for that option.

The user can also click on “Reset” on the bottom of the screen, which resets the entire app and clears the inputs from the “Input Your Medical History” screen.

Search

Wherever the user is on the app, they can utilize the search feature. By clicking on the search icon and then on the Enter Term bar, the user is given a keyboard and the ability to enter text. The user can use this to search for definitions of medical terminology. In this example, we have used the keyboard (not shown) to search for “botox.” After clicking enter, the user will be taken to a Search Result Screen with the results to their search. In this example, we see the search bar on the home page. However, it is accessible throughout the app.

The user can see the full list of treatment options available. The user can also see a small description of every treatment option. The user can click on any of the treatment options, and they will be taken to a new page for that individual treatment.

The user can navigate away from this screen by using the back and home buttons, which go to the prior page and home screen, respectively.

Medical History / Personalization Screen

Medical History / Personalization Screen

In this page the user can input their medical history by answering the questions that are listed. The user can click on the “Yes” or “No” radio buttons corresponding to each question to answer that question. The user can press the “Submit” button to enter this information into the app so that the app can warn the user of contraindications later. The “Submit” button also takes the user back to the Home Screen. The user can also press the “Reset” button which clears the information that was already inputted to the app and sets all of the radio buttons back to “No.”

The user can navigate away from this screen by using the back and home buttons, which go to the prior page and home screen, respectively.

The user can see all of the information about the physical therapy treatment option on this page. This information includes a small picture, a more detailed description, a list of side effects, as well as a diagram depicting the frequency of the treatment over the course of one year. The user can scroll to find more information.

The user can navigate away from this screen by using the back and home buttons, which go to the prior page and home screen, respectively.

The user can see all of the information about the PTNS treatment option on this page. This information includes a small picture, a more detailed description, a list of side effects, as well as a diagram depicting the frequency of the treatment over the course of one year. The user can scroll to find more information.

The user can navigate away from this screen by using the back and home buttons, which go to the prior page and home screen, respectively.

Compare Frequency and Usage Screen

Compare Frequency and Usage Screen

The Compare Frequency and Usage Screen allows the user to compare the duration of the of the treatment, as well as the comparative frequency over the course of one year. Every small blue rectangle represents another round of the treatment. The user can scroll up or down to see all of the graphics.

In the Compare Side Effects Screen, the user can easily compare side effects for different treatment options. Likewise, if the user wants, the user can click on any of the treatment options to be brought to the treatment option’s individual page.

The user can navigate away from this screen by using the back and home buttons, which go to the prior page and home screen, respectively.

The screens with the white contraindication warning work similarly to the Welcome Message Screen. The user can get to the regular screen by clicking anywhere outside of the white box. The warning message is there to tell the user that there is a treatment on that page with a contraindication.

The screens with just the red contraindication work exactly the same as the original version of that screen. The treatment option that is highlighted in red has a contraindication because of the medical history inputted to the app.
